Long distance runner Tom Longboat is a surprisingly powerful story examining the life and times of a turn of the century Iroquois Nations famous athlete. The life, times, and misunderstandings of the early runner are revealed through re-enactment based around an interview with a reporter. Although based on the book In Defense of Tom Longboat, another title, The Man Who Ran Faster Than Everyone- The Story of Tom Longboat, by Jack Batten (released in 2002), is more readily available. Longboat was the winner of 1907 Boston marathon with a time of 2:24:24 as well as winning a marathon held in Madison Square Garden in 1908 by completing the 262 laps in 2:45:05.
