Welcome to Madison Square Garden in New York City for the televised broadcast of the Verizon Millrose Games held on February 4th, 2005. There are 40 events scheduled comprising of 10 high school, 9 collegiate, 17 invitational and 4 youth events. The Wanamaker Mile featured Bernard Lagat shattering one of the Millrose Games’ most hallowed records when finishing in 3:52.86 in front of the crowd of 13,519. The 60 meter hurdles went to Allen Johnson (7.53) and Linda Ferga-Khodadin (8.01) of France. Berhanu Alemu won the 800 where there was a dramatic fall from Khadevis Robinson. Hazel Clark clocked 2:06.00 for her third straight 800 title. Bershawn Jackson won the 600-yard run, Carmen Douman-Hussar won the women’s mile, and Dee Dee Trotter easily took the 400 in 53.94.
